We have a visit organised to SWEEEP which is a hi-tech recycling plant for waste electronic products based in Sittingbourne. http://www.sweeepkuusakoski.co.uk/. The website includes a couple of introductory videos and background on the plant (which runs on 100 per cent renewable energy).
The trip will give a fascinating look at what happens at the end of life to all of our electronic goods, with the facility handling all of the recycling of these from Kent and from much of the rest of the South-East and beyond. Our hosts will also be able to talk about the business side of recycling, how commodities markets and regulations impact this, and whether Brexit is likely to have an effect.
The free visit is on Wednesday 10th May, with the tour starting at 11am and with lunch provided. If you let us know if you want to go, we can sort out combining transport as much as possible from Hythe.
