Free heat loss studies

During evenings in January, volunteers with Transition Hythe will again be conducting informal heat loss surveys of homes in Shepway District using a thermal image camera provided by Kent County Council. This camera can pinpoint “hot spots” on dwellings which often suggest simple measures which could improve the comfort of residents and reduce heating costs.

Launching the 2017 programme of surveys, Martin Whybrow, Transition Hythe’s Co-ordinator, said “There is no better way of reducing the cost of fuel than using less and, through these studies over the past six years, we have been able to suggest improvements which can provide real benefits for householders.”

To be included in the programme of studies, please contact Roger Wood at or on 01303 263707 with a brief statement of your reasons for wanting a survey.
